Pure Blitz

this weekend i went home and took emily and kim with me. we had such a great time relaxing, eating, being silly, eating, playing games, eating... the ride home was eventful. we played perdidle, had chinese fire drills, even though it was freezing out, and sang at the top of our lungs. thankfully we made it home before it started to snow. at my house i gave the grand tour of my house and we went out and saw the "zoo"- aka- our barn. kittens, cats, dog, bunny, horse... i think that about covers it. the animals seemed to like the extra attention and we debated if we could sneak the bunny or one of the kittens back to IWU with us... don't worry. we left all the 4 legged mammals at my house. once back inside i taught the girls dutch blitz ( the greatest game ever!), we ate ice cream, popcorn, chilled with my family and watched a movie. then we all three had a slumber party on a pull out couch bed. we talked, i read Goodnight moon to them as their bedtime story, and we snuggled up and went to sleep. poor kim was on the end and freezing because emily was hogging all the covers. kim tried to ask emily for some of the covers back, but emily gave her a really mean look! so kim dropped it:) in the morning emily didn't remember any of it!

we got up at 10ish on saturday and found about 4 more inches of snow on the ground.mom made us some great monkey bread, egg caserolle and fruit. yum yum! we played some more games and laid on the bed talking and playing i spy-lol. we were ridculously lazy! but around 1 we got up some ambition and bundled up and went sledding in wauseon. on the way there, i gave them the grand tour of my tiny little town of Pettisville, population 500. that took all of 5 min, driving slow i might add... :) we had a blast sledding. we all three got on a sled and headed down. i thought we were going to die! we wrestled in the snow, made snow angels, ate snow and in general acted like little kids. it was so great! we kept pretty warm, except for our faces which got pretty wind burnt.

after sledding we drove back to my house and went over to my neighbor's house to see their dog's 10 puppies! they are just beginning to open their eyes and are soooooooooooo cute. i might get some digital pics later and i'll have to put them up. em was holding one of the puppies and it a pooped on her! even that was cute, at least to kim and me! haha. i think that my family is going to buy one of them once they are weaned. i can't wait. there's just something about rolly polly puppies that is irrisitible.

the rest of the day was pretty uneventful. we showered and curled up in my living room with hot chocolate, a blazing fire and a good movie. later for supper we made bread and chicken noodle soup and my grandparents stopped in. we visited with them for awhile and then played jenga and got to level 28! i think that might be close to a world record- lol. because of the snow and 40mph winds we decided to stay in and watch more movies, the last one i was asleep within the first 10 minutes. after that we were off to bed and because church was cancelled b/c of drifting, we slept in until 11:30! today basically consisted of packing, eating, playing games and being entertained by my brother. he's quite the character. we headed back to iwu around 3:30 and were back on campus safe and sound at about 5:45.

God truely blessed us with a great get away. my friend got to get to know my family better and now understand more of why i am the way i am! lol. plus we had a great bonding time and that was refreshing. but because we did nothing all weekend, i really need to go hit the books.... there's a cost to everything, but it was worth it!
