Ramblings

well i haven't written for awhile, and while there really isn't anything too interesting going on right now, i figured i better update my journal for all you avid readers.

so new year's was a lot of fun. just hung out with a close group of friends and had a lot of laughs. no real new year resolutions. i got to bed around 4 and the next day was dad's side christmas, at my house! so it was kind of a crazy day, but i did fit in time for a run with my good ole' dad. Christmas was a grand time with lots of good food and fellowship, a guest appearance of santa and the power going out (so we had munchies by candle light and sat around telling riddles, like: a man is found dead in the dessert with only a backpack on, how did he die?). good memories... oh and my cousin proposed on new years eve and so there will be a wedding in the family on July 2, but i'll be in guatemala.

The rest of the week brought bball games, work and ice storms. i also hung out with my friend Katie who is getting married in september and i am a bridesmaid in her wedding! the only problem is that the dresses are red and i'm going to look like a tomato, but that's ok, it will still be fun! so we went a got my measurements done, right after the holidays, no less!! yeah, great timing. i'm just glad that they aren't altering it until i get back from guatemala. hopefully i'll be back into regular form by then. i also found out that i am extremely disproportional. according to my "upper" measurements i should have a 26in waist! hahahahhaha! best joke i've heard all day! after that we went to see katie's new house! she has a house! well she won't move in until after the wedding, but still! i don't even have a boyfriend and she has a home to decorate, clean, paint and furnish. wow!

my parents left last friday for a little get away in arizona. so i was head of the household. i did wash, cleaned and did dishes. tara, a friend of mine, and i went to my sis's bball game and then went and got pizza and a movie to take back to my house. we were met by a bunch of our guy friends, so it was party time! we ate, chilled, played playstation2 and watched the dumbest movie ever! never get "perfect strangers" yeah, tara and i thought that it would be a good romantic/action movie. we were informed that one should never get a movie if there were only 3 copies at the store. who knew? on saturday afternoon my bro sis and i went sledding behind our cousin's 4 wheeler. it was a ton of fun and we got covered in snow! we also flew off numerous times and my knees are pretty bruised up from slidding on frozen fields. anyway late that afternoon my bro (who was grounded) sis and i went to defiance to shop, eat and watch a movie. so we went to eat a fizoli's b/c my bro didn't want to go anywhere that ppl might see him with us, but what do you know? his ex girlfriend and two of her friends came in! it was so great! then we went shopping and i helped my sis get some new clothes and did the whole mom thing, holding the clothes, giving my opinion when she tried stuff on and going to pay while she changed. :) my bro happened to run into some friends while walking around and wanted to go to a movie with them. i didn't know what to do. i mean i'm not a parent and he was grounded. the only reason that he was there was b/c he was hanging with alisha and me. so i did the thing i vowed never to do i said " you do what you think you should"- man i hate it when parents say that b/c you know what they want you to do, even if they don't say it, but there i was, saying the same thing! ahhhh! so he "decided" to come with us and i think he had a bearable time.

monday i returned to good ole IWU and it was so great to be back with friends again. classes have started full force and i'm still trying to get down a good routine for sleep, running, devos (etc). tonight was the new years rebash and that was a lot of fun besides the fact i almost got ran over by some crazy kids "fighting" in the front. good times. anyway, i'm sure there will be more later, but it's time to get ready for bed so i can PARTY tomorrow night....right... as of now i have no plans, so if you wanna do something, give me a hollar.
